Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, Tara began her dance training at numerous studios in the Lexington area. She is a graduate of Ohio University, receiving degrees in Dance and Business. She has studied a wide variety of genres, including ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, lyrical, musical theater, hip-hop, modern, and African. Returning to Lexington during each summer of her collegiate studies, she choreographed a summer ballet pre-show performance for the new works of The Lexington Ballet and Kentucky Ballet Theater.
She has additionally trained through dance intensives, such as the Mark Morris Dance Company Intensive and Winston-Salem Ballet Intensive and continues her training by taking classes at a variety of studios through New York City. Some of her performance experiences include dancing for Team USA’s Basketball tour of China, the New York Lizards Dance Team, commercial work through CBS, the World Equestrian Games, and the New Haven Domestic Abuse Center benefit performance. She continues to work as a performer, choreographer, and teacher, but currently has a business focus in the industry.
