Melanie’s passion for dance started when she learned how to walk and has only grown, specifically when she began teaching. She has been dancing for 20 years and started competitively dancing at age seven. She is experienced in styles of dance ranging from Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Pointe, Contemporary/Lyrical, Hip-hop, Musical Theater, and Modern dance. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Dance with a minor in Sports Management at Rutgers University. During her time at Mason Gross School of the Arts, she was professionally trained in Ballet, Improvisation, Pilates, Afro-American Fusion, Yoga, and different Modern techniques, including Horton, Gaga, and Graham. Melanie also completed studies in Laban Movement Analysis, kinesiology, anatomy, and dance composition to enhance her teaching abilities for her students. She continues to take classes in different styles and perform throughout New Jersey.
